MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. - The University of Richmond women's tennis team won all but one singles matches and took the doubles point to earn a 6-1 win over the College of Charleston in its first match of spring break at the tennis center at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. The Cougars drop to 4-7, while the Spiders improve to 4-5
The Spiders opened the match with solid tennis earning them three wins at doubles to grab the point heading into singles play, where they were, again, able to get the job done. Although some second sets were tougher than the first sets, the Spiders were mentally tough and rallied from behind to win. Robin Carter fought hard to win the third set breaker, while Pamela Duran and Ashlee Vosters cruised through their matches. Richmond was then able to take all but one singles match to earn the 6-1 win.
Richmond will now travel to Charleston Southern on March 8 for a 1:00 p.m. match.
