Bucknor Invited To Pre-Draft Workout With Toronto Raptors

TORONTO - Former Richmond men's basketball player Jermaine Bucknor will have a pre-draft workout with the NBA's Toronto Raptors on Friday.
Bucknor, who finished up his career in 2005-06, was invited to participate in a workout at Air Canada Centre on Friday. His workout will include Syracuse's Jerry McNamara and Duke's Sean Dockery.
The 6-foot-7 forward from Edmonton, Alberta has been a member of the Canadian National Team for the past two years. He led Richmond in scoring as a senior in 2005-06, averaging 13.5 points per game and scoring in double figures in 22 of Richmond's 30 games. He scored 20 points or more in six games and hit at least three 3-pointers in 12 games in 2005-06. Bucknor was second on the team in rebounding (4.6 rpg) and led the team in steals (1.2 spg).
Bucknor's 67 3-pointers in 2005-06 ranks 10th on Richmond's single-season list and his 151 career 3-pointers is fifth on the Spiders' all-time list. He shot 34.6 percent from 3-point land (151-437) for his career.
Bucknor has played with the Canadian National Team for the past two seasons, suiting up for a total of 16 games. In 2005, Bucknor averaged 27 minutes in an exhibition series versus Angola scoring 9.7 points and grabbing 6.3 rebounds per game.
Fellow 2006 graduate Kevin Steenberge had a pre-draft workout with the Washington Wizards last week.
