Richmond Falls To Old Dominion, 3-0

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond Spiders baseball team fell to the Old Dominion Monarchs, 3-0, Tuesday afternoon at Pitt Field.
With the loss, Richmond falls to 0-7 on the season, while the Monarchs improve to 6-3 on the year.
The Spider bullpen was again strong on Tuesday, holding Old Dominion scoreless over the last six innings. LHP Zach Grossfeld tossed 2.1 innings of relief, striking out four, while RHP Ray Harron pitched 1.2 shutout frames with two strikeouts. LHP Ryan Donnelly and RHP Dan Martinson combined to record the final four ODU outs.
Offensively, seniors Adam Forrer and Mike Small each had singles, while junior Ryan Cook and freshman Kurtis Brown also had hits in the setback.
The Richmond Spiders will be back in action this Friday when the team begins a three-game series with Fairfield. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Pitt Field.
