Balatgek Named A-10 Rookie Of The Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Freshman Katrina Balatgek of the Richmond field hockey team was named A-10 Co-Rookie of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday.
Balatgek helped the Spider hockey squad to two wins this past weekend, blanking defending A-10 Champions UMass Friday and Ohio Sunday. The Reading, Pa., native recorded a team-high three points as she hit her first-career goal against the Bobcats and assisted the game-winner against the Minutewomen.
This is Balatgek's first weekly honor as a Spider.
Richmond, who is now undefeated in the conference with two victories, will hit the road to Philadelphia, Pa., for a pair of A-10 foes this weekend. The Spiders will face Saint Joseph's Friday at 3:30 p.m., before taking on La Salle Sunday at noon.
