Spider Hockey Falls At Delaware

NEWARK, Del. – The Richmond field hockey team fell to the Delaware Blue Hens, 4-1, Friday night at Rullo Stadium. Sophomore Kelly Quinn found the back of the cage for the Spiders in their first loss of the season.
Richmond (2-1) fell behind 2-0 before Quinn got the Spiders on the board in the 34th minute. The sophomore connected on point blank range on a Rebecca Barry rebound.
Delaware (3-1) went ahead and scored twice in the final 35 minutes of play to secure the win. Barry and Amy Cooke led the Spiders with two shots each with Barry notching one on goal.
Richmond will be back in action Sunday, Sept. 7 when it travels to CAA-foe James Madison at 12 p.m.
