Richmond Falls On The Road At Old Dominion

NORFOLK, Va. – The University of Richmond Spiders baseball team fell on the road to Old Dominion on Wednesday night in Norfolk, Va., 11-5.
With the loss, Richmond falls to 20-15 on the season overall, while Old Dominion improves to 19-21 on the year with the victory.
3B Michael Morman and OF Kyle Adams led the offensive charge for Richmond on Wednesday night. Morman finished a home run shy of the cycle, batting 4-for-5 with a triple, two doubles and two RBI, while Adams went 4-for-4 on the day.
DH Matt Dacey hit his Atlantic 10-leading 10th homer in the loss, 2B Daniel Brumbaugh had three hits. OF Tanner Stanley had a two-run single, while C Aaron Newman had a pair of base hits, including a double.
Freshman RHP Justin Garcia (2-1) suffered his first collegiate loss, pitching five innings and allowing three runs. RHP James Lively pitched a scoreless inning of relief for the Spiders.
The Richmond Spiders will be back in action this weekend when the team heads to Philadelphia to face Atlantic 10 rival La Salle. The three-game series gets underway on Friday, with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m.
