Kendall Anthony Tabbed VaSID All-State First Team

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond's Kendall Anthony was named to the VaSID (Virginia Sports Information Directors) All-State First Team. The annual awards, which are selected by sports information and athletic communication professionals from around the Commonwealth, were announced Tuesday. The University Division covers all 14 Division I institutions in Virginia.
A native of Jackson, Tenn., Anthony led Richmond with 16.4 points per game, ranking sixth in the Atlantic 10 this season. He tallied 30 double-digit scoring games and 10 20-point games in his final season with the Spiders. Shooting a team-best 39.2 percent from long range, Anthony was second on the squad with 60 three-pointers as he became Richmond's all-time leader in made three-pointers.
The award adds to Anthony's impressive career resume and trophy case. This season, he was an All-Atlantic 10 First Team selection and named to the NABC All-District First Team. Anthony also earned a spot on the Richmond Times-Dispatch All-State team.
This spring, Anthony won the prestigious Kevin Eastman award for excellence, dedication and character on the men's basketball team, while he was also named the Spider Club Male Student-Athlete of the Year at UR. He received his Richmond undergraduate degree in political science at Sunday's commencement ceremonies.
Anthony was honored by the VaSID in 2012 when he was named the Virginia Rookie of the Year and garnered honorable mention accolades.
