
Spiders Drop 2-0 Decision at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The University of Richmond field hockey team dropped a tough 2-0 decision at Big Ten foe Rutgers Sunday afternoon.
The Scarlet Knights went into the break with a 1-0 advantage after Nikki Santore scored on a defleted corner after time expired in the first half. Rutgers tacked on a goal in the 42nd minute to take a 2-0 lead.
Junior keeper Amanda Hoyt logged five saves in goal for the Spiders while classmate Katrina Balatgek had two shots.
The Spiders conclude their non-conference schedule on Saturday, October 29 at #2 Duke. Game time in Durham is set for 1:00 p.m. Richmond will then quickly return home to Crenshaw Field on Sunday, October 30 to conclude the regular season with a Senior Day contest against Saint Louis at noon.
