ARLINGTON, Va. – The Univerisity of Richmond baseball team fell victim to another late rally on Saturday afternoon in Arlington as the Colonials of George Washington scored six runs in the final three innings to take the second game of the Atlantic 10 series, 7-5.

The Spiders grabbed an early lead again in game two, but this time it wasn't until the third inning. Michael Morman led off the inning with a double and would cross the plate on a balk, giving Richmond a 1-0 advantage.

George Washington would even the score in the bottom half of the inning. Zach Grossfeld retired seven-straight batters before allowing a pair of base runners in the inning, and Joey Bartosic's sacrifice fly put GW on the board.

Richmond loaded the bases in fifth and Daniel Brumbaugh came up with a clutch two-run single to give the Spiders a 3-1 lead. Tyler Beckwith would cap off the three-run inning crossing the plate on GW's second balk of the game to make it a 4-1 ball game.

Very similar to yesterday, the Colonials continued to flirt with Richmond's lead. GW drove in a pair of runs behind a double from Brandon Chapman in the seventh, and cut the Spiders' lead to one, 4-3. That wouldn't be enough for the Colonials as they loaded the bases and added two more runs to take a 5-4 lead in the inning.

Neither team would go quietly. The Spiders battled back in the eighth as Morman singled through the left side to drive in the tying run. In the bottom half of the inning, GW would retake their lead, 7-5, behind a pair of sacrifice flies.

Richmond will conclude the series with GW tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
