Lucido Announces Addition of Heinzel to Spider Hockey

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Spider Hockey Head Coach Gina Lucido has announced the addition of Felicitas Heinzel to the roster for the upcoming 2017 season. Heinzel joins the program after spending the last two seasons at Missouri State before the program was cut.
"I'm so grateful we were able to bring good out of a very difficult situation for the MSU field hockey program," said Lucido. "I have such pride that Felicitas was coached by two former Spider standouts and will finish her career at Richmond. Feli's experience against top conferences and overseas background bring depth to our goalkeeping position. Her ability to lead with strong communication will immediately impact our defense and enable smooth transition to our squad. Our entire GK unit becomes stronger with the addition of Felicitas to the program."
Heinzel played the last two seasons with the Bears where she was in the cage for 26 games and registered 109 saves. The Seeheim-Jugenheim, Germany native was named a 2016 NFHCA Scholar of Distinction as well as earning Academic All-MAC honors.
