Zwicklbauer Earns VaSID All-State Honors
12/18/2018 | Field Hockey
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond field hockey junior Elise Zwicklbauer has been named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State Second Team following a breakout season for the Spiders.
Â
This is Zwicklbauer's first All-State honor and the first for a Spider since Amy Cooke, Kelly Quinn and Emily Braunewell earned the honor back in 2015.
Â
Zwicklbauer started all 19 games on attack for the Spiders in 2018, leading the squad with 17 points on six goals and five assists. Her goal and assist totals were both good for second on the team after she totaled just 11 total points in her first two seasons. She finished with two game-winning goals on the year.
Â
The Burnt Hills, New York, native played a large role in the Spiders' qualification for their 18th-consecutive Atlantic 10 Tournament, and was named to the A-10 All-Academic Team for her efforts both on the field and in the classroom.
