RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's basketball team used a balanced effort and a career-high 21 points from senior Jaide Hinds-Clarke (Westwood, N.J.) to defeat Norfolk State, 77-69, Monday night at the Robins Center.
"Obviously, a great win for our team," head coach Aaron Roussell said. "We took a lot of high percentage shots tonight and I am proud of the effort. It was a game of runs and for us to win in the fashion that we did will help us down the road."
The Spiders (7-7) improved to 3-1 at home and were clutch at the free throw line going 25-for-28 (89.3 percent). Hinds-Clarke was 10-for-11 from the line, grabbed eight rebounds, two blocks and four steals to lead the way. Sophomore Emma Squires (Kingston, Mass.) finished with 19 points, including 3-for-6 from the three-point line. Sophomore Claire Holt (Hoover, Alabama) added 13 points.
