Frazier Recognized with Westhampton College Senior Award

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond senior Olivia Frazier was recognized as a 2022 Westhampton College Senior Award honoree Thursday (March. 14) and was honored with the Betty Ann Dillon Award.
The Westhampton College Senior Awards celebrate many different parts of student life, work, and achievements, representing our student community in its fullness. A full list of the awards with their descriptions is found here.
The Senior Awards embody the true spirit of Westhampton: a celebration of community, gender equity, and inclusion; the importance of activism, advocacy, allyship, and care for each other; the joys and mutual benefits of leadership, mentorship, and friendship; and our dedication to helping each other become the best versions of ourselves. Nominations come from peers, faculty, staff, and other community members. Thank you to everyone who nominated so many of our amazing students – they are outstanding scholars, leaders, citizens, mentors, and human beings.
Frazier, a native of Cary, N.C., completed her playing career with eight goals and 12 assists for 28 points. She made 25 starts in 63 games played at midfield. She was named as a spring 2021 First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection, after she led the team with 14 points on four goals, including three against Saint Louis (3/26) and six assists. She finished the spring 2021 season second in the nation averaging 0.86 assists per game and 12th in the nation in 2.00 points per game.
In the fall 2021 season, Frazier tallied nine points on three goals and three assists in 17 starts for Richmond. She tallied a season-high four points on one goal and two assists in the Spiders win at Saint Louis. Frazier also had a three-point performance against William & Mary, collecting one goal and one assist in the win.
The Betty Allen Dillon Award is given to Westhampton student(s) who embody the spirit of Westhampton, taking equal pride in both tradition and progress. In word and action, these students work to promote the core values of the college in the contemporary world, staying true to our mission to help students become the best versions of themselves as they lead informed, purposeful lives. They are dedicated to understanding and promoting how innovation and tradition are entwined, and bring this knowledge to bear in their daily lives and in planning for future generations. This award honors Betty Ann Allen Dillon, a distinguished graduate of the University of Richmond, who completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in sociology and psychology in 1949. Notably, she began her studies in 1945-46, which was the last year of the tenure of the first dean of Westhampton College, Dr. May Lansfield Keller. Betty Ann has been a steadfast volunteer for the University of Richmond in countless roles since graduation, so that she has known and worked with every dean in Westhampton's history. Betty Ann has had a long and impressive career as a licensed psychologist and human resources consultant, and was a member of the University's Board of Trustees, having received the Trustees' Distinguished Service Award in 1983. She has also served on the Westhampton and University's Alumni Association boards for many years.
