Woodson Collects 200th Win to Open Series at Bonnies

Game two of the series is set for noon Saturday at Handler Park at McGraw-Jennings Field.
The Spider offense spotted starter Brock Weirather (Polk City, Fla.) two runs in the top of the first. Jared Sprague-Lott (Philadelphia, Pa.) tripled in Alden Mathes (Broomall, Pa.) and then scored on a ground out.
The Bonnies got one in the third off Weirather, who allowed four runs on seven hits, a walk and matched his season-high eight strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work.
Jake Elbeery (North Andover, Mass.) picked up the first of three RBI on the day in the sixth scoring Mathes from third to push the Spiders lead to 3-1.
The Richmond offense was unleashed in the top of the seventh as the squad tallied eight runs on six hits, two walks and two hit by pitches. Jason Neff (West Palm Beach, Fla.) had hits in the frame, including a two-RBI triple, while Sprague-Lott doubled in two runs. Elbeery picked up two RBI with a base hit as Mathes forced in a run after getting hit and D.J. Pacheco (Danvers, Mass.) tallied RBI single.
Jack Buckley (Bronx, N.Y.) took over for Weirather in the seventh, getting out of the jam by inducing a ground out and a strikeout. Buckley gave up one run on three hits and a walk in an inning of work.
Eli Larson (Mill Valley, Calif.) came in the eighth, striking out both batters he faced. Winston Allen (Morristown, N.J.) pitched the ninth, allowing one run on one hit.
