Spiders Overpower Bonnies in Morning Matchup

St. Bonaventure - The University of Richmond Women's Lacrosse team took the 20-12 victory over St. Bonaventure Saturday morning.Â
11 a.m. was the original start time for the game. Weather concerns arose, pushing the game up to 10 a.m..
The Spiders held a lead for the entirety of the game. Going into the second quarter, they held a 4-0 advantage. At the half-time break a seven point lead favored Richmond at 10-3. Quarter three brought many scores for both sides as it ended in a 17-7 Richmond lead. A few new faces saw the field heading into the fourth quarter as the Spiders secured the win with a score of 20-12. St. Bonaventure fought to come back as they found the goal nine times in the second half, but the efforts from the Spiders were too strong.Â
Lindsey Frank had yet another strong Saturday performance. Finishing with 7 points coming from 5 goals and 2 assists, Frank tied to be the top scorer with Colleen Quinn. With her 7 points, Frank was also able find 1 ground ball, 1 draw control and 1 caused turnover.
Colleen Quinn finished with 7 points from 4 goals and 3 assists as she tied with Lindsey Frank to be the top scorer. Along with her offensive efforts, Quinn forced a caused turnover.Â
Arden Tierney, the reigning Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week found the back of the net 2 times and contributed to 2 assists to finish with 4 points. Tierney controlled the circle with 15 draw controls, narrowly missing out on her own program record of 17 (set against Duquesne 4/1/22). Tierney held more draw controls individually than the team of St. Bonaventure held at the end of the game (12).Â
Marymargaret Quinn and Maggie Jordan each pushed through 2 goals. They both took two shots a piece, setting their shooting percentages of the game to 1.00.
Ali Susskind, Sophia DiCenso, Juliana Stanley and Madeleine Rudolph all knocked through singular goals.
Freshman Jordyn Harrison continues to show her defensive strength as she found 3 ground balls and forced 2 caused turnovers.Â
