Richmond Falls at Old Dominion in Midweek Contest

NORFOLK, Va. – After 19-straight home games, the University of Richmond baseball team dropped the squad's first road game 3-2 to Old Dominion Tuesday afternoon.
Richmond, moves to 9-11 on the season, returns to action for a road series at High Point. First pitch in the series opener on Friday is set for 6 PM at Willard Stadium.
Jordan Jaffe put the Spiders on the board in the top of the first with a two-run home run off the building beyond the left field wall.
ODU responded with a two-run shot of their own in the bottom of the second to tie the game.
Both pitching staffs then tossed five scoreless frames. The Spiders left seven on, drawing four walks and picking up four base hits and a double.
UR starter Logan Ymker scattered four hits, two runs, two walks and four strikeouts over five innings of work. Jackson Hinchliffe made his collegiate debut, retiring all three batters he faced in the sixth. Harrison Clifton made his 11th appearance of the season, striking out one and walking one in the seventh.
Dane Armson took the loss after giving up a solo home run in the eighth. Armson went two-thirds of an inning with a strikeout. Cole Hentschel allowed one hit and got the final out of the eighth via strikeout.
