Spider Baseball Comes from Behind to Walk Off Patriots in Extras

Nick Lorenzo was the 10th inning hero. With the bases loaded, he sent a deep fly ball to right field to score Aidan O'Keefe from third for the win. Lorenzo took over center field in the seventh inning for Aaron Whitley and collected his first collegiate hit in the eighth.
Richmond, now 11-15 on the season and 2-0 in Atlantic 10 action, goes for the series sweep of George Mason, 12-14, 0-2, Sunday with first pitch set for noon at Pitt Field.
The Spiders headed into the bottom of the sixth down 16-2, picking up runs on a Whitley first inning lead off home run and a DJ Pacheco RBI ground out in the fourth.
Whitley hit his second home run of the day to center field to kick start the bottom of the sixth, collecting his third blast of the year. Jake Topolski then hit a bloop that GMU's right fielder couldn't handle, scoring Pacheco and Jason Shockley to make it 16-5.
Ethan Sannes retired the Patriots in order in the top of the seventh, quickly getting the Spiders bats back to the plate. With the bases loaded, Jordan Jaffe laced a double to the gap in left center scoring Joey Wilga and Connor Larson to inch the Spiders closer, 16-7. Phil Bernstein collected a RBI single to left before Jack Arcamone, who replaced Shockley defensively in the top of the frame, tallied a RBI sacrifice fly. O'Keefe picked up his first RBI hit of the day to score Bernstein to put the Spiders within six, 16-10.
Jake Young and Jackson Kraemer combined to toss a scoreless eighth, stranding two Patriot walks. Kraemer then retired the Patriots in order in the ninth.
The Spiders again loaded the bases as Wilga forced in the first run of the frame with a four-pitch walk. Larson picked up his second walk of the day to force in a second run to make it 16-12. Lorenzo tallied his first collegiate RBI with a sacrifice fly to right field warning track. Jaffe tallied a RBI double down the left field line before RJ Rickabaugh tied the game with a two-RBI double to left center.
Harrison Clifton made his 15th appearance of the season in the 10th, tallying the first two outs before Dane Armson, the Spiders eighth pitcher of the day, got a ground out to end the frame.
Brian Reinke made his seventh start, going three and a third of an inning, allowing four runs one earned on four hits a walk and five strikeouts. Logan Ymker tossed an inning, allowing five runs on seven hits, one walk, one hit batter and a strikeout. Matthew Anderson followed with an inning of work, allowing six runs on six hits with a strikeout. Sannes tallied a run on one hit in one and two thirds of an inning of work.
