Spiders Trample Bonnies to Remain Unbeaten in Atlantic 10

Richmond, Va. – The University of Richmond women's lacrosse program extended its conference record to 5-0 on Saturday as the Spiders took down the Bonnies of St. Bonaventure 17-9. Ten different members scored goals on the afternoon, with three freshmen finding the back of the net for the first time in their Richmond careers.
The Spiders took complete control of the first half, outscoring the Bonnies through both quarters putting the lead at the half to 10-3. St. Bonaventure entered the third quarter on a fresh game plan, winning the period 2-1 over Richmond and pushing the score to 11-5. Many new faces for the Spiders entered the game throughout the fourth quarter, yet the Bonnies could not use their third quarter momentum to bounce back as Richmond solidified the victory with a 6-4 final fifteen minutes. The Spiders completed the afternoon with a 17-9 win over the conference opponent of St. Bonaventure. With this victory, the Spiders extend their overall record to 9-2 and remain undefeated in conference play with a 5-0 record.
Alexis Morton, the Spider assists leader was a star for the Richmond offense through the entirety of the matchup, notching a career high 7 points from 3 goals and 4 assists. She went 2-3 from the free position. Morton's efforts were seen on the defensive end of the field as well as she tallied 1 ground ball on the day.
Grace Muldoon found success at all levels of the game for Richmond. On the offensive side of the ball, she tallied 4 points from 3 goals and 1 assist with a .750 shooting percentage. On defense she collected 3 draw controls, scooped 1 ground ball and forced 1 caused turnover.
Colleen Quinn had yet another impressive outing for the Richmond offensive unit, tallying 6 points from 3 goals and 3 assists. Quinn went .750 from shots on goal. She remains the Richmond points and goals leader after this one.
Ali Susskind found the back of the net twice against the Bonnies, ending her day with 3 points from 2 goals and 1 assist.

Abby Francioli, the week five Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week had another strong performance between the pipes against St. Bonaventure, pulling in 13 saves and only allowing 5 goals through three quarters of play. Francioli saw action through periods 1-3.
