Homers Power Spider Baseball Past Bonnies for A-10 Series Victory

OLEAN, NY – The Richmond Spiders baseball team was propelled to victory by home runs by Connor Larson and Aidan O'Keefe Sunday at Handler Park to collect the Atlantic 10 Conference road series over St. Bonaventure.
Richmond (20-24, 9-6 A-10) has the midweek off due to finals and jumps back into league action Friday, hosting Dayton at 2 p.m. at Pitt Field on ESPN+. This is the Spiders third A-10 series victory and fifth of the season.
SBU got a quick 1-0 lead in the first, but UR responded in the second. With two on and two out, Connor Larson hit his second home run of the season to put UR up 3-1.
Aidan O'Keefe got in on the long ball action in the fifth. O'Keefe launched a three-run home run for his fourth home run of the season, bringing in DJ Pacheco and Jack Arcamone.
Then in the seventh, O'Keefe launched his fifth home run of the season. He hit a solo shot on the seventh pitch of the at bat to give UR a 7-4 lead and go 3-or-3 at the plate with two walks.
The Spiders tacked on another run in the ninth, as Pacheco scored on a ground out.
UR starter Logan Ymker allowed two runs on four hits, two hit batters and two strikeouts over three and two-thirds of an inning. Brian Reinke allowed the Bonnies two other runs, on two hits, a walk and a wild pitch in one and two thirds of an inning of work.
Chase Topolski collected his first victory of the season after holding the Bonnies scoreless over one and two-thirds of an inning. He allowed one hit and struck out one.
Harrison Clifton threw four pitches to get the first out in the eighth before handing the ball to Spiders closer Cole Hentschel for his sixth save of the season. Hentschel allowed two hits and struck out two in an inning and two-thirds of action.
