RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond baseball team captured the squad's second Atlantic 10 Conference series of the year Sunday with a 3-1 victory over Massachusetts at Pitt Field.
Richmond, now 24-10 on the year and 7-8 in A-10 action, heads on the road for five straight beginning with midweek action at Coppin State. First pitch in Tuesday's game is set for 3 p.m. The Spiders will stay on the road to face George Washington in weekend league action.

Joey Giordano, making his collegiate debut, scattered a hit and a walk with a strikeout over two innings to collect the victory. Tyler Rigot allowed a hit and struck out two before handing the last out of the seventh to Davis Wallon, who got the ground out to keep UMass off the base.
Brian Reinke got the first out of the eighth on a ground out. Ryan Bilka got the final five outs of the game, picking up two strikeouts to collect his second save of the weekend and season.
D.J. Pacheco put the Spiders on the board in the bottom of the second, lacing a single to left to score Brady O'Brien after he reached with a hustle double to right center.
Pacheco gave the Spiders a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning with a solo home run down the left field line.
Jack Arcamone singled through the right side, scoring Phil Bernstein to give Richmond an insurance run in the eighth.
