Spiders Take Win Over George Washington

Washington, D.C. - The University of Richmond Women's Lacrosse team took the 17-5 win over George Washington Saturday afternoon.Â
George Washington struck first early on as they scored the first two goals of the game. Richmond was able to catch up in the middle of the first quarter as they ended the period with a 4-2 lead. Following the break, the Spiders put their foot on the gas as they outscored George Washington 7-1 in the second quarter, leading 11-3 at the half. Through the remaining two quarters of the game the Spiders punched in six more goals and held their opponents to two, tallying for a 17-5 victory.
Colleen Quinn put on an offensive show as she found the back of the net for 5 goals off of just 7 shots. She was also able to contribute with an assist, bringing her point total on the day to 6.
Arden Tierney had yet another successful outing as she scored 4 points that came from 3 goals and 1 assist, collected 1 ground ball and found 10 draw controls.Â
Goalkeeper, Emilie Bloyer had a strong game in the goal as she brought in 7 saves and only allowed 3 goals.Â
Hannah Custer played an all-around game as she contributed with 2 assists, 3 ground balls, and 2 caused turnovers.Â
Ali Susskind, Grace Muldoon and Sarah Roycroft each tallied 2 goals.Â
Lindsey Frank, Alexis Morton and Leah Kenny all grabbed individual goals.Â
Up next, the Spiders travel to Davidson, NC to face the Davidson Wildcats in the in-conference meeting.
