Spiders Rally for Key Win Over Davidson

Davidson, NC. - The University of Richmond Women's Lacrosse team powered through for an important conference win against Davidson Saturday afternoon.
With post-season implications on the line for both teams, they found themselves tied at 5-5 at the end of the first quarter. Richmond struck hard in the second quarter with six goals to Davidson's two, creating an 11-7 advantage for the Spiders heading into the half. After a weather delay that lasted about an hour, the Spiders continued to rain down on offense through the second half, putting through seven goals to Davidson's four. Richmond's efforts in the later periods of the game led them to an 18-11 victory.
Arden Tierney controlled all areas of the field as she contributed with 8 points that came from 4 goals and 4 assists. Along with her offensive efforts, Tierney collected 3 ground balls and dominated the draw circle with 7 draw controls. She is just 8 draw controls away from taking over the program record for career draw controls (set at 362 by Caroline Queally in 2018).
Colleen Quinn extended her hot streak as she controlled the offense with 8 points that came from 4 goals and 4 assists. Quinn found her 4 goals from only 6 shots, putting her at a .667 shooting percentage on the day. With strong offensive moves, Quinn also played the defensive side of the ball with 3 ground balls.
Lindsey Frank had a complete all-around game as she found the back of the net 5 times off of 7 shots (.714 shooting percentage), scooped 3 ground balls, found 5 draw controls and forced a caused turnover.Â
Ali Susskind slipped the ball past the Davidson goalie for 2 goals on 4 shots (a .500 shooting percentage).Â
Sophia DiCenso, Sarah Roycroft and Leah Kenny each had individual goals.
